Data Validation and Checking

One of the most difficult aspects of CAD translation is verifying that the resulting translated model or drawing is the same as the original source data. Where translations are done interactively unless a designer has access to both CAD systems he may have no idea at all what the pre-translated data looks like and his only view is the one he gets when the translation has taken place. At this stage the most likely actions a designer will take are to visually inspect the model and drawings for obvious flaws and to run a system check to see if the CAD system believes that the model to be wholesome. It takes time and expertise to be sure that everything is as it should be, but as a manual process is prone to error.

Whatever data validation and checking process you use Theorem has the ability to automate the whole process. By programmatically reading output messages from any part of the translation and checking process and then taking action depending on the message content a fully automated solution can be created.

Generic processes can be developed removing the manual and time consuming task of the checker to compare every reported message from each translation. Theorem's process manager automatically summarizes them in to a report. If and only if the messages indicate a condition that should be checked, will an excepion report be produced and a requirement for manual examination of a specific translation is then automatically triggered.
